I am very passionate about teaching and love helping to build confidence in performers. Over the years I have taught professional actors, young adults and emerging actors:
Movement Workshop series for emerging and professional actors, ‘Into the Body and out of your Head’ with the renowned Meisner Based Training Company, Both Feet in Manchester.
Teaching sessions including Q&A and audition technique with third year Performance students. I gave open and honest information about what to expect in the industry, with both Northumbria and Cumbria University.
I have also taught Acting at Meladrama Acting School in Preston and Bolton, from 6 years old to adults.
The workshops I offer include:
- Exploring Laban Technique: experimenting with the efforts and practical ways of how you can use this technique to develop charcaters. We also explore multirole and how you can quickly change characters using the Laban efforts.
- Mock Workshop Audition: more and more auditions are taking the form of workshops. Delve into practicing your skills in a safe space. This course covers warming up, devising movement and audition workshop exercises.
- Writing from the Body: after completing this course with Movement Theatre in New York, I have some exciting ways to unleash the imagination through physical exercises that inspire you to generate pages of new writing.
- Writing your own Monologue: hot seating allows you to find character and make a monologue tailored perfectly for you. Allowing the actor to have ownership and choice in what kind of monologue they want to use to showcase themselves.
